Chef's Kit

Figma

A group project in collaboration with Morgan Minch and Skylar Rosario. We designed and prototyped application to make cooking more affordable for new chefs, especially new homeowners, college students, and those with disabilities.

Deliverables:

  • Branding

  • Functional Figma prototype

Initial Brainstorming

Before designing any pages, we came up with these essential functionalities: users should be able to search and store recipes, maintain a digital fridge, filter by cuisine, accommodations,

and dietary restrictions, cook collaboratively, plan large events with multiple chefs. We decided to hone in on event planning with multiple chefs for the final project. To that end, we had to communicate the navigation between different pages, how to add new chefs, how to specify allergies, and how the search feature should change based on the event's filters. The following sketches were drawn by myself.

Wireframing

We began with a wireframe, which then edited based on user testing. Here is an example of the evolution from wireframe to high-fidelity prototype on a screen I designed.

Final Design Elements

I was in charge of creating the components from which the rest of the pages were laid out. I also designed the search, recipe, and event creation pages.
